History and Preservation:

The United States Cavalry Association: Dedicated to the preservation of all aspects of U.S. Cavalry history. The site includes an interesting photo gallery with numerous photos of 20th Century cavalrymen and horses.

The Black Horse Association: Association for veterans of the 11th Cavalry, their families and those interested in the history of the regiment.

Presidio of Monterey Museum: This musuem, formally run by the Army, has been re-opened by the City of Monterey. The fine exhibits feature the history of the US Cavalry, other military units who were based at the Presidio, as well as the general history of the Monterey Pennisula.

The Military Horse: Excellent reference site, especially for information on McClellan military saddles and restoration.

The Australian Light Horse Association: Celebrating perhaps the most famous horse soldiers of the 20th Century. Read the real story of the men portrayed in the movie "The Lighthorsemen".

These are the primary suppliers for uniforms and equipment used by troopers of the 11th Cavalry (Commemorative).
